My paper deals with the ambiguous issue of transgressing taboos in literature. To illustrate as well as possible this issue, I chose to operate with D. H. Lawrence’s last novel, Lady Chatterley’s Lover. I chose to operate with this book because, according to many sources and literal critics, such as Casey or Weisser, this novel is probably the most repressed ever due to its taboo subject: adultery that crossed the class line, as well as the use of graphic language.
