My work, structured on two chapters has the purpose of providing some studies about Christian furniture history.
Wood is an excellent construction material, which has been used by people for thousands of years for the production of building constructions, machinery, tools, interior design, including furniture, accessories, and even jewellery. In particular, pieces of furniture made from wood are structures, which sometimes have not changed their form and technical solutions for several millennia.
Furniture design is deeply rooted in the human condition. It is a social science that belongs to the humanities, an applied art that draws upon many design disciplines, and is dependent upon a working knowledge of materials and fabrication techniques. It is a holistic and interdisciplinary field of study.
This work addresses an analysis in the context of the history of biblical furniture and its aim is to present the furniture as wooden structures, and the house design in Biblical times and also the ancient tools used for the wood technology.
The technical part, the theoretical one, based on the European Christian wood carving art, and wood carve processing suggest enforcing intercultural tradition of Christian wood carving art to develop an individual understanding and value, by preserving inland characteristics.
