My paper focuses primarily on the impact that the Jazz Age had on America’s social, cultural, and political grounds. The Jazz Age represented the perfect time for development, emancipation, expression, innovations, and equal rights. It was a time of liberation. The image of the Jazz Age is closely connected with prosperity and extravagant living, with gangsters, flappers, the sound of jazz music, with the Lost Generation and the Harlem Renaissance. All these represented attempts to create a new America and to start a getaway from the country’s Victorian past. My paper is an effort to prove the magnitude of the profound changes that the Jazz Age announced.
