The concept of Special Educational Needs encompasses a wide range of learning profiles. Some learners experience difficulties related to communication and language development, while others may need additional support because of attention deficits, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, sensory impairments, or physical disabilities. Although these learners may require different forms of educational support, they share one important characteristic: they all possess the capacity to learn when teaching is responsive, flexible, and meaningful.
