There are many ways to educate a child. Choosing a school for a child is one of the most important decisions parents take. The school, its teachers, the curriculum, the educational philosophy, and values will affect the child’s everyday life. It will help figure the child’s personality, view of life, behavior, and destiny as an adult. And it will also totally affect the lives of the parents and the life of the family as a whole.

Since many parents have already opinions and make assumptions about what is better for their children, the information gathered in this research can help with a better insight as to what really is beneficial to students. I wish to underline some differences and possible benefits or disadvantages of alternative schools versus traditional ones. The emphasis is put on alternative schooling, especially on the way of language teaching in Rudolf Steiner Schools.
