One of the central methodological concerns in teaching speaking in high school is the balance between fluency and accuracy. These two dimensions represent complementary yet sometimes competing priorities in second language pedagogy. While fluency emphasizes the ability to communicate meaning smoothly and spontaneously, accuracy focuses on the correct use of linguistic forms. Effective speaking instruction must reconcile these dimensions in order to promote communicative competence without sacrificing grammatical development.
