Sherlock Holmes short stories encourage skills such as the power of observation and critical thinking and because each story is independent one from another, the teacher is offered the opportunity of presenting the stories the students would be most interested in. The aim is to stimulate curiosity and interest in the topic, to keep their attention focused on the characters of the story.
