This paper presents a simulator for protection relays, checking values and protection conditions, with an emphasis on the operations of connecting and disconnecting each relay in a three-phase set. Automating this process has proven to be a complex task. An important aspect of the implementation of this simulator was the automatic boolean validation of functions. Relays are essential for the implementation of various protection functions and are adapted specifically to each electronic equipment in the station. They include internal algorithms (logic diagrams) that use secondary measurement transformer windings to retrieve and recalculate values, logical numbers, or even adjustable parameters. This simulator provides an efficient way to quickly learn and test protection and control procedures covering a wide range of situations. Each scenario developed within the simulator can serve as a reference on the aspects and development of competences in the field of energy protection and control systems.
