The present methodological guide aims to provide both a theoretical and a practical perspective on the English parts of speech. The theoretical discussion draws primarily on authoritative reference grammars, including Quirk et al. (1985), Huddleston and Pullum (2002), Biber et al. (1999), Swan (2016), and Downing and Locke (2006). These works represent the most influential descriptions of Present-Day English and constitute the foundation of contemporary English grammar.
From a methodological perspective, the guide integrates traditional grammatical analysis with modern communicative language teaching principles. Each chapter combines theoretical explanations with pedagogical recommendations, classroom activities, examples of authentic language use and suggestions for formative and summative assessment. Particular attention is devoted to the difficulties encountered by Romanian learners of English, especially where significant structural differences exist between Romanian and English.
The guide may serve as a practical reference for beginning teachers, undergraduate and postgraduate students in English language education, and anyone interested in developing a comprehensive understanding of English grammar and its classroom application. The overall objective of this work is not merely to describe the English parts of speech, but to demonstrate how sound grammatical knowledge can be transformed into effective classroom practice. Consequently, the guide seeks to bridge the gap between theoretical linguistics and language pedagogy, providing future teachers with both academic knowledge and practical teaching tools

Language is a bridge to access knowledge, skills and attitudes within and across cultural/political boundaries. In the past thirty years English has become the means of world communication. As a result of these two realities, language learning has decisive qualities in opening or closing the doors of academic achievement and professional success in addition to securing international trade, economic development and world peace.
The tremendous power English exerts today has not been without cost to a great number of other languages. English has become the second language in Denmark and Sweden as well as Latin American, African and Asian countries, replacing German and French in the international scientific community, and erodes internal flexibility in many of its Indo-European cousins including Italian.

Teaching English to children with Special Educational Needs is both a professional responsibility and a meaningful opportunity to create learning experiences in which every child feels valued, respected, and capable of success. Inclusive education is based on the belief that all learners, regardless of their abilities or challenges, have the right to participate actively in classroom life and to receive instruction that responds to their individual needs. In the English language classroom, this means designing lessons that encourage communication, build confidence, and allow every learner to make progress according to their own pace and potential.
The concept of Special Educational Needs encompasses a wide range of learning profiles. Some learners experience difficulties related to communication and language development, while others may need additional support because of attention deficits, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, sensory impairments, or physical disabilities. Although these learners may require different forms of educational support, they share one important characteristic: they all possess the capacity to learn when teaching is responsive, flexible, and meaningful.
