Subtitles have become part of our lives as they are attached to many entertainment products which can be watched on different devices. Teaching methods try to adapt to the evolution of technology and to integrate it into the process of developing and cultivating knowledge. Thus, subtitles have become one of the tools teachers started to use in classrooms.

Translation has attracted more and more interest as a study field for researchers in recent years, most probably due to all the dimensions it encompasses that enhance and confirm its complexity. It has adapted to the requirements of our era and has, therefore, become a part of the new entertainment devices created by means of technology. Hence, the need for new translation forms that would match the audiovisual products. Animated cartoons have marked a new stage in the development of this type of products and have turned into the symbols of the latest generations’ childhood.
The research topic of this paper is, in fact, the result of the mixture between the curiosity for finding the difficulties arising from dubbing a new form of comedy for children and my personal need of understanding the humorous mechanisms hiding behind the moving pictures that have played a crucial role in a generation’s perception of humour. There are, of course, other genres of audiovisual products, but humour usually gets adapted to each of them and acquires new forms and specific features in each context.
