The dichotomy between reality and dreams is a fundamental topic in Shakespeare‘s and Calderón‘s drama. Dreaming is considered a creative imaginative process of the mind, breaking the boundaries between reality and illusion. This dissertation aims to demonstrate the ways in which this ambiguous state of the mind is employed in the plays.
